Takaran Waktu Bagi Seorang Mahasiswa

            Waktu adalah hal yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dari kehidupan. Seiring berjalannya waktu maka berjalan pula kehidupan. Waktu akan terus berjalan maju kedepan tanpa bisa kembali kebelakang. Oleh karena itu banyak orang yang menganggap waktu merupakan hal yang berharga. Ada istilah yang timbul dimasyarakat yang bunyinya, “waktu adalah uang”. Dengan istilah tersebut, orang termotivasi bahwa membuang buang waktu sungguh merupakan hal yang sia – sia. Mereka akan dengan bersemangat terus bekerja dengan keras dalam pekerjaannya. Padahal kita tahu, hidup ini bukan hanya soal perkerjaan saja. Masih banyak hal yang harus dikerjakan seiring dengan waktu selain hanya memburu uang.

            Terbalik dengan pekerja yang memegang teguh istilah “waktu adalah uang”, banyak mahasiswa dewasa ini yang kehilangan kontrol waktu untuk dirinya sendiri. Mereka kebanyakan sibuk dengan kehidupan diluar kewajibannya sebagai seorang mahasiswa. Mungkin memang tidak semua mahasiswa, tetapi sebagian mahasiswa mengaku kurang bisa mengontrol waktunya untuk belajar. Bahkan seorang teman mengatakan dengan candaannya, ”Masuk universitas itu susah, jadi nikmati saja dulu waktu kita di universitas. Jangan buru – buru lulus”. Padahal jika ditelaah kembali dengan lulus cepat berarti dapat mengurangi beban biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk kuliah dan dengan bersungguh - sungguh mungkin bisa lulus dengan predikat cumlaude.

            Penting bagi seorang mahasiswa untuk bisa mengontrol waktunya. Kapan mereka harus memenuhi kewajibannya sebagai seorang mahasiswa, dan kapan baginya untuk memenuhi haknya sebagai manusia yang mempunyai kehidupan diluar kuliahnya. Dengan mengontrol waktunya, bukan tidak mungkin seorang mahasiswa dapat lulus dengan cepat dan mendapat predikat lulus dengan pujian namun tetap dapat bersosialisasi dan jalan – jalan bersama teman – temannya. Dan masih banyak hal yang dapat mereka lakukan jika mereka dapat mengontrol waktunya dengan baik.

Ada cerita tentang dua orang sahabat. Mereka berdua merupakan salah satu mahasiswa pergururan tinggi swasta di Bandung. Dari semester pertama mereka bersama menempuh perkuliahan walaupun berbeda kelas. Namun ada perbedaan yang mencolok diantara keduanya, yaitu salah satu dari mereka selalu pulang lebih awal selepas perkuliahan selesai dan yang satu lagi langsung menghabiskan waktunya untuk hanya sekedar nongkrong dan menghabiskan waktu dengan teman yang lainnya. Ditengah – tengah perkuliahan sekitar semester 5 atau 6, temannya yang selalu pulang lebih awal itu tiba – tiba memdapatkan nilai yang kurang baik untuk satu mata kuliahnya dan diharuskan mengulang tahun depan. Dan sahabatnya justru terus mendapat nilai bagus dan lulus dengan tepat waktu. Setelah ditelusuri, ternyata temannya yang selalu pulang lebih awal itu, setelah pulang kuliah dilanjutkan dengan bermain bersama teman – teman se-gengnya yang lain bahkan sampe seharian. Tugas - tugasnya terabaikan dan bahkan esoknya terkadang tidak dapat hadir di perkuliahan karena telat bangun dan kecapaian. Terbalik dengan temannya yang suka nongkrong dan menghabiskan waktu dengan teman yang lainnya. Dia bisa me-menej waktu yang dia punya agar dapat menghabiskan waktu dengan teman - temannya namun kewajibannya sebagai mahasiswa juga dapat terpenuhi.

Dari ilustrasi diatas, seorang yang dapat mengontrol dengan baik waktunya tidak akan kehilangan haknya sebagai manusia untuk bersosialisasi dengan manusia lainnya tanpa mengabaikan kewajibannya. Oleh karena itu, mengontrol waktu bagi seorang mahasiswa menjadi penting jika mereka ingin mencapai kesuksesan baik dalam pemenuhan kewajibannya sebagai seorang mahasiswa serta dalam menjalankan haknya sebagai manusia yang punya kehidupan lain selain perkuliahannya.
